In her work, Pauline examines the acceleration of our society. In 2019, she experienced this acceleration in real-time during her stay in the Chinese metropolis of Suzhou. She captured the motion of this vibrant environment, with its dynamic architecture, traffic flows, business districts and residential areas. Elusive but resonating, like an echo.
She cherishes her amicable encounters in the art circle . As a parting ritual, the bond between artists and students was expressed wordlessly by each putting an embroidery stitch on a piece of fabric and passing it on, an idea off Alice Kettle. Pauline continued this circle in her installation ‘Echo of Suzhou’ with embroidery stitches. The conversation continued.
