A play between nature and architecture, inspired by the lock in Eefde.
The cutout shape of the pier adds depth and strength to the work, creating a striking contrast with the softness of the thread used to embroider the trees. This thread also adds a subtle texture.
I cut out the image, embroidered it onto a new piece of linen, and lightly padded it. As a result, the work literally emerges from the surface, gaining more relief and physical presence.
