Fast Landscape Golden gate - 2025, acrylic and thread on untreated linen, hand embroidered, hand embroidered, size 70 x 110 cm.

In my series, FastLandscape, I explore the dialogue between speed and slowness, making the technological transition of our society visible. My paintings, created with acrylic paint and hand-embroidered elements, symbolize a deliberate choice for a time-consuming technique a quiet rebellion against the constant changes brought by technology.

In Golden Gate, I depict my ambivalent relationship with the online world; the balance between vulnerability and control. A naked woman, covered in passwords, is partially ‘gnawed’ and undergoes a transition from a physical body to …. data? She approaches a monumental viaduct, a symbolic border between the physical and high-tech worlds. The viaduct evokes a paradox: both inviting and unsettling. The ‘eyes’ embedded in the structure watch her, like gatekeepers of the digital realm.

The atmosphere is festive, blue light, bright and golden colours, yet also ominous.

As a viewer, it feels as if you too, are traveling towards a new reality!
